The Murray River Group of Councils is urging decision-makers to carefully consider all of the available data on the social and economic impacts of the Basin Plan as well as examining the environmental outcomes, and not to rush decisions that will have huge long-term consequences.
Chair Cr Adrian Weston said, “The Basin Plan is forever changing the way the water of the Basin is used. The impact on our communities is already being felt and needs to be properly assessed and understood as we continue through to the end of implementation in 2024.”
